The British Caribbean Philatelic
Journal
The British Caribbean Philatelic Journal has been published without interruption
since 1961 and at the end of 2001 had reached just over 200 issues. It seeks
to cover all aspects of the philately of the British West Indies and at the
same time to keep members informed about Group activities new publications,
elections, etc.
The Journal has published many ground-breaking articles in the past, and it
is recognized as the premier source of research on Caribbean philately. Its
contributors in recent years have included such authorities as: Ed Addiss (British
Honduras), Bill Ashley (Dominica), Horst Augustinovic (Bermuda), Edmund Bayley
(Barbados), Bob Devaux (St. Lucia), Jay Fredrick (Virgin Islands), Charles Freeland
(Montserrat, British Honduras), Tom Giraldi (Cayman Islands), Graham Hoey (Bahamas),
Paul Larsen (Leeward Islands) M.H. Ludington (Bermuda, Turks & Caicos Islands,
maritime mail), Ian Matheson (British Honduras), Michael Oliver (Leeward Islands),
Geoff Osborn (Bermuda, maritime mail), Ian Potter (Jamaica), Ben Ramkissoon
(Trinidad & Tobago), Gale Raymond (Bahamas), Robert Swarbrick (Jamaica),
Mark Swetland (Antigua), Ron Wike (Trinidad & Tobago), Rob Wynstra (Leeward
Islands), etc., etc.
The BCPJ has received many national and international awards in philatelic literature
exhibitions, including large silver medals at Wapex 93 (Fremantle), Philakorea
94 (Seoul) and Capex 96 (Toronto), and vermeils at PhiLITex 92 (New York), Hafnia
94 (Copenhagen), Orapex 93 and 95 (Ottawa); Sescal 93 (Los Angeles); COLOPEX
94 and 96 (Columbus, Ohio); StaMpsHOW 92, 93, 94 and 95, etc.
